WORKSHOPS
All workshops will be led by Theatre Labyrinth core collaborators, Raymond Bobgan, Holly Holsinger and Brett Keyser.

¤ WALKING THE GLASS LABYRINTH: One day, Saturday, September 16, 10:00am - 6:00pm, $70 This intensive one-day session offers participants an introductory view into the creative processes used for Theatre Labyrinth's work. Participants will experience short segments of actors' physical training, vocal work, and "action" creation. Walking the Glass Labyrinth also includes work demonstrations by Theatre Labyrinth artists as well as a discussion of one's approach to the actor's craft. This is a great opportunity for artists wanting to sample new perspectives on acting, performance and the development of new material.

¤ MIND INTO MATTER: Six days, Monday - Saturday, October 2-7, 6:00pm - 10:00pm, $225 Explore unique practices developed by Theatre Labyrinth to develop the actor's tools -expand personal creative resources and work the reactive mind, body and voice. Mind Into Matter provides a series of challenging, concrete exercises through which you will create performative "actions." Artistic Director Raymond Bobgan will then work directly with participants to develop a performance structure where each individual's "action" will become an element in an ensemble narrative. Mind Into Matter will serve performers working in a variety of theatrical genres, and especially those seeking new inspiration for their own work. This workshop offers a more intensely intimate encounter with Theatre Labyrinth's approach to performance development and theatre creation.

¤ TEXT-TILES - examining the fabric of words
Three days, Friday - Sunday, November 17-19, 6:00pm - 10:00pm, $100 Text-tiles is a three-day workshop for actors seeking new ways of exploring and using text in performance. In Text-iles, Theatre Labyrinth artists share techniques for delving into the sound and structure of words to uncover hidden layers of meaning in performance. Text-tiles will also explore how the sound and shape of words can form the basis for developing characters or provide the prima materia for creating original plays and performance pieces. This workshop will be especially useful for performers who wish to develop solo works based on existing texts.

¤ DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE. One afternoon, Saturday, September 23, 12:00pm - 4:00pm, $40 A one-day workshop for non-performers where you can discover and experiment with - ideas, emotions and inspirations using movement, voice, and action. Down the Rabbit Hole guides participants through simple, yet profound exercises that will awaken creativity and locate forgotten personal sources of inspiration. Down the Rabbit Hole provides a safe and playful environment for this work.

Five Days, Monday - Friday Sept. 25-29 Tuition: $120, 6pm - 9pm Materials: $30 In this introduction to stiltwalking, you will learn how to walk all over again - re-dis-covering balance, confronting and overcoming fear, feeling muscles you never knew were there before - on your own pair of stilts which you will build and keep. In the supportive environment of this 4-session class you will challenge yourself to a new view of the world at your feet. Designed for anyone interested in walking tall - for non-performers and performers alike. No prior experience is necessary. Best suited for ages 15 to 92. Three Saturdays & One Sunday, Nov. 14, 21, 28: 10am - 1pm, Nov. 29: 2pm - 5pm $120 Walking on stilts is the first step - your next challenge is to perform on them. Begin to develop a reactive body, capable of surprising and shaping the attention of a spectator - this is the core of a stilt-walker's art. Prerequisites for this class are the introductory class or equivalent prior experience, and a pair of stilts.

¤ PERFORMING INSIDE OUT with Holly Holsinger
Six Saturdays, Oct. 14 - Nov. 18, 10am - 2pm $175 This performance techniques class is designed to help actor/performers explore their own creative process in a unique and exciting way. Using techniques developed by Holly and Theatre Labyrinth, this intense six-week class works to free the actor from habits and boundaries to allow true creative impulses from "the inside" to meet, confront, and respond to "the outside." Performing Inside Out focuses on the artist's primary tools - body, voice, and imagination and integrates these tools with the performer's impulse. This class is ensemble-based and attendance at all sessions is absolutely critical.

¤ IN YOUR OWN WORD, ONSTAGE, ALONE with Patricia Harusame Leebove and Mike Geither
Six Sundays, Oct. 8 - Nov. 12, 1pm - 4pm $175 This six-week writing for solo performance class is designed for actors who write, writers who act, and those who have done neither but would like to try. Patricia and Mike will use movement and voice work, guided writing exercises, storytelling and performance techniques, and ongoing text development to help partici-pants to create a new and original performance piece. Participants will have developed a 20-minute solo piece by the end of the class. This workshop is for the shy, the seasoned, the outgoing, the extroverted, and the quiet.
